ONTARIO GOVERNMENT NAMES AD/PR POOLS

The Ontario Advertising Review Board has named the winning agencies in the Government of Ontario's advertising and public relations pool competitions. The number of agencies in each pool is greater tham previously. The ad pool now consists of 12 shops, up from nine, while the PR pool contains seven firms, up from five. In the advertising pool are Anderson Advertising, BBDO Canada, Bensimon Byrne D'Arcy, Communiqué, DraftWorldwide, Fuel Advertising, Gee, Jeffery & Partners, Harrod & Mirlin/FCB, Padulo Integrated, Ranscombe & Co., Vickers & Benson and Wolf/TC&P. The PR pool agencies are Communiqué, Delta Media, Edelman Public Relations, Enterprise Canada, Environics Communications, GPC Communications and Hill & Knowlton. All pool agencies are under three-year contracts.

In other competition news, a decision regarding the Government of Ontario regulatory, statutory, tender and recruitment advertising competition is expected shortly. The shortlist of agencies includes Bernard Hodes Group, Day Advertising, Fuel Advertising, Recruit Ad and Tamm Communications. Also getting underway is an advertising agency competition for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. Letters of intent for the three year contract are due by August 2, 2000.
