MARKETEL BREAKS AIDS/STD PREVENTION CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based advertising agency Marketel and the Ministere de la Sante et des Services sociaux du Quebec (Ministry of Health and Social Services), have teamed up in targeting young Canadians through a new campaign for the prevention of AIDS and STD's. Phase one of the campaign broke the first week of May targeting the 12-17 year age group. Transit posters featuring messages such as "L'amour, c'est plein de saveurs" ("Love is full of flavors") and "Equipes pour s'aimer" ("Equipped for love") are designed to promote the use of condoms as well as create both awareness and responsibility among the target audience. The second phase of advertising will see the full campaign launch in conjunction with the back-to-school season this Fall. Television, print and radio advertisements featuring the message ("If you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to use a condom") are scheduled to run until Spring 2001. The campaign is running throughout Quebec.
