By Adnews Staff
Toshiba of Canada, based in Markham, Ontario, has placed its advertising account in review, according to a report in the National Post. The account had been with Toronto-based Communiqué Group for the past four years. According to the report, a marketing executive of the company confirmed a review had begun but would not give out any additional details. Chris Stavenjord, president of Communiqué, said his agency will be participating in the review. Toshiba markets its products under four divisions including the information systems group, the consumer electronics group, the office products group and the medical systems group. In 1995, Promanad Communications was awarded the $1.5 million advertising assignment for Toshiba's information systems group. A year later the agency added Toshiba's consumer electronics and medical products groups to its roster. In 1998, Promanad was purchased by Communiqué Group.
