YTV KEEPS IT WEIRD ON WHEELS

Toronto-based YTV will "oooze" across Canada this summer. The youth network kicked-off a Weird on Wheels road show in Toronto over the weekend which features some modifications and changes from previous outings. The re-vamped tour is sponsored by the Hasbro Super Soaker and L'Oreal Kids products. WOW is a travelling extension of YTV, said Suzanne Carpenter, vice president of sales at YTV. "Just like our on-air look, it is incredibly wacky and fun," she said. Inhabiting the WOW truck is Oooze, a purple creature with 12 foot high tentacles, bobbing eyes and big feet, who speaks in a language only the Crooo can understand. The Crooo is a group of five scientists who travel with Oooze. The WOW truck contains games and activities for participants. Kids can use a water gun to soak Oooze, play a trivia game in the L'Oreal Kids Shampoo Lab, spin the Uh Oh! Wheel to win a prize, and watch YTV programs on a 95-inch screen. The WOW road show is being supported with two 30-second on-air spots that began running last week. The spots are scheduled to run throughout the summer and will be supported with a full-page ad in the summer issue of Whoa! magazine. Online viewers can log onto the WOW Web site at <http://www.weirdonwheels.com> to get tour dates and read the story of Oooze. PK Van Bodies handled the structural design of the WOW vehicles while Voo Doo Airbrushing handled the artistic treatment.
