The Globe and Mail has announced the appointment of Douglas Goold to the position of editor of Report on Business Magazine. Goold, who most recently served as editor of the Report on Business section of The Globe and Mail newspaper, replaces Patricia Best, who has said she is leaving the magazine to concentrate on full-time writing. Goold held the title of editor of the ROB section of The Globe and Mail for the past two and a half years. He first joined the Globe full-time in 1992 as investment editor and a columnist with both the newspaper section and the magazine prior to becoming editor of the newspaper section in 1997. Goold's appointment as editor of the magazine is effective immediately.
