COOLEH.COM DEBUTING THIS SPRING

Canadian media company Corus Entertainment Inc., based in Toronto, has teamed up with publishing company Torstar Corporation and the online auction network Auctions.com to launch Cooleh.com, a new online shopping site. Cooleh.com, expected to launch this spring initially in the Greater Toronto Area, will feature merchandise at fixed prices as well as auction merchandise from brand-name retailers. The site will launch with categories such as consumer electronics, books, CDs, and computers and following the response the site receives in the GTA, will roll out across Canada. The number of product categories is also expected to expand. Corus Entertainment president and CEO John Cassaday said his company will hold a 30% stake in Cooleh.com, Torstar a 50% stake and the remaining 20% will be held by Auctions.com. He said Cooleh.com will be aggressively promoted through Torstar's media properties, which includes the Torstar Daily Newspaper Group as well as through the Corus network of radio and TV properties, which includes 31 radio stations, specialty television networks YTV and CMT and additional investment in WIC Western International Communications.
