CanWest Global Communications Corporation announced the appointment of Gerry Nobel as president and chief executive officer of Global Communications Limited, effective May 1. In his new role, Nobel will be responsible for all of CanWest's Canadian media operations. Most recently he was CEO of CanWest Pacific Communications in Sydney, Australia.
