PJ DDB SHIPS NEW ADVERTISING FOR PUROLATOR.COM

Palmer Jarvis DDB takes simple office tasks and shows how difficult they can be in a new advertising campaign supporting the launch of Purolator.com. The campaign is the first original, multi-media campaign the agency has completed for Purolator since it began working with the company in July 1999. Purolator launched its new Web site on April 1, 2000. The company is targeting managers, receptionists, administrative assistants and mailroom employees with the ads. Using humor, the spots depict office workers fumbling simple tasks. These jobs are then compared to the ease-of-use of Purolator.com's Web shipping service. One spot show an office worker trying to replace an office water cooler bottle. The national campaign includes two French and English 30-second television ads, two French and English 60-second radio ads, promotion on the Elevator News Network, point-of-sale materials and an online promotion. Purolator is looking to increase the number of people shipping through electronic methods with this campaign. Advertising runs until the beginning of June.
