PUBLICIS ACQUIRES GOODHUE

Toronto-based Publicis Canada has acquired a majority of shares of Montreal-based Goodhue & Associes. Financial details have not been disclosed. Founded 12 years ago, Goodhue & Associes specializes in strategic development and positioning of corporate and product brands. Clients of the firm include Domtar, Lassonde International, Metro-Richelieu and Microcell Solutions. "This acquisition is in line with our growth strategy, and will help to position us as a Canadian communications industry leader," said Yves Gougoux, chairman and CEO of Publicis Canada. "Our short-term goal is to add a premier branding and strategic design offering within the Publicis network, and we firmly believe that our alliance with Goodhue will provide this added value for our clients." Following the acquisition, Goodhue will retain its name, corporate identity and management. The firm is headed by president Luc Goodhue.
