Time Canada has named Mark Updegrove president. Updegrove succeeds Don Brown who is retiring after 33 years with Time. Brown had held the position of president since 1996 when Time Canada first established its Toronto headquarters. In his new role, Updegrove will be responsible for all publishing operations including advertising and promotion. Most recently he was division manager for Time's Los Angeles office.

Neil Harris and Annabel Magennis have joined the offices of Vectra Marketing Group Inc. as creative director and senior account manager respectively. Harris joins Vectra after most recently freelancing as a creative director, while Magennis comes to the company after working as promotions manager at the Canadian National Exhibition for the past five years.

The Association of Canadian Advertisers has appointed Roger Sirard vice president. In his new role, Sirard will head the ACA's Montreal office, working to build the ACA's presence and membership in Quebec. Most recently, Sirard was vice president of communications and marketing projects for BELAIRdirect in Montreal.
