BLOCKBUSTER CANADA SHOWING NEW RELEASES FIVE NIGHTS A WEEK

Blockbuster Canada of Toronto understands Canadians live busy lives. In response to these hectic lifestyles, the video chain retailer has announced it is extending the rental period for recently released movies from three to five evenings. "We appreciate the fact that our members are very busy and hope that this new program will give them even more opportunity to enjoy watching a great movie from Blockbuster in the comfort of their home - especially ones they may have missed when they first came out," Pat Gibbons, senior director, product & marketing for Blockbuster Canada said. To promote the new extended rental time, Blockbuster is using in-store point-of-purchase materials and print ads in its in-store magazine. Additional ads will be seen in Famous Players new in-theatre magazine and Cineplex Odeon's Tribute magazine. Promotion of the new five evening rental period will also be seen on Blockbuster's Web site. The extended rental time will be effective immediately at all 350 Blockbuster locations across Canada.
