NEW ASTHMA MAGAZINE HELPING CANADIANS BREATHE
By Adnews Staff
A recently launched magazine making its way into doctor's offices across Canada is helping Canadian asthma patients breathe. The magazine, Breathe: Active Living with Asthma, is being produced in partnership by the Asthma Society of Canada, Parkhurst Publishing of Montreal and pharmaceutical company Merck Frosst Canada & Co. of Kirkland, Quebec. Breath is a 20-page quarterly magazine. According to Dr. Mark Greenwald, a Toronto-based asthma specialist and Breathe's editor-in-chief, asthma patients are always searching for information. Keeping up with new developments is an ongoing effort because with all the information out there, not all of it is reliable, Greenwald said. "Breathe will help asthma patients sift through it all," The magazine is free and will be available by subscription or in doctors' offices across the country every three months in both English and French. A French edition, called Plein vent, is available in Quebec. Total production for the first run will include 50,000 copies. Twenty per cent of the first run will be for French copies with the remainder for English copies.
