CHWO BIDS FOR AM 740
By Adnews Staff
CHWO 1250-Radio to Remember is making a bid for the AM 740 frequency. CHWO has applied to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for a license to operate at the 740 kHz frequency. If CHWO's bid for the AM spot is approved, plans include moving CHWO's existing format, aimed at listeners 50-years-old and older, to the 740 frequency based in Toronto. Currently, CHWO 1250 broadcasts its 50+ format in Oakville, Ontario. The new station would be positioned as AM740 PrimeTime Radio while CHWO 1250 would be converted into a family oriented station featuring contemporary Christian music and programming. CHWO is an independent radio station owned and operated by the Caine family for the past 44 years.
