By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based YTV has teamed up with Nintendo of Canada, based in Vancouver, and Warner Bros. of Toronto for a new Pokemon promotion. In preparation for YTV's Pokemania two hour marathon on November 7, Nintendo's launch of its Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition Game on November 7th and Warner Bros.' release of the new feature film Pokemon on November 12th, the three are working together on a three week promotion taking place during YTV's weekend programming block, Snit Station. The promotion features a watch and win contest with a grand prize viewing of Pokemon: The First Movie for the winner and his or her classmates, in addition to new Pokemon Game Boy products. Between November 6 and November 21, viewers can collect Pokemon clues appearing on screen during Snit Station to identify a Pokemon character. On-air support for the promotion will include a 30-second tune-in spot, a 45-second contest detail spot and two 5-second opening billboards for Nintendo and Warner Bros. YTV will also have additional promotion support on its Web site, including an interactive Pokemon game, a movie trailer and complete contest details. Both the television spots and opening billboards were created in-house by YTV.
