DAIMLERCHRYSLER CANADA CONSOLIDATES QUEBEC AD ACCOUNT
By Adnews Staff
DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc. is starting the new year with all its eggs in one basket after announcing the company will be consolidating its Quebec advertising account at Montreal-based PNMD Communications. According to DaimlerChrysler, its team at PNMD will operate as part of PentaMark Canada, a management group that was formed earlier this year by BBDO Canada, PentaCom Canada and Ross Roy Canada units of the Omnicom Group. PNMD, who had been handling the Quebec Dealer Association account, is a member of the BBDO Worldwide network. Publicis.BCP had been previously handling corporate and brand advertising as well as media buying for DaimlerChrysler in the province. With the start of the new year, PNMD will assume agency-of-record responsibility for all corporate brand and DAA advertising in Quebec with media buying being handled by PentaCom/OMD's Montreal office. DaimlerChrysler Canada's vice president, marketing, Bob Renaud said the decision to consolidate its ad account is part of a DaimlerChrysler AG strategy to consolidate media buying with PentaCom North America.
