COUNTDOWN TO OLYMPICS BEGINS WITH UPS DELIVERING INVITATION
By Adnews Staff
UPS Canada of Mississauga, Ontario tested Canadians' knowledge of Olympic trivia in a promotion that ran to coincide with the distribution of the Olympic Games invitations. As part of the activities leading up the games, the express courier and package delivery company distributed all International Olympic Committee invitations for the 2000 Olympic Games to National Olympic Committees worldwide. During the distribution, UPS Canada ran a trivia promotion on various radio stations across Canada in contest format. Trivia questions such as "What three cities have hosted the Olympic Games twice?" and "In what year were the first modern era Olympic Games held?" were asked to promote the games next September in Sydney, Australia. Additional media relations and promotions will be ongoing as the one year count down to the games continues. Public relations for UPS Canada is handled by Edelman Public Relations Canada of Toronto. As worldwide sponsor of the 2000 Olympic Games, UPS is the exclusive international express and courier company for the games.
