By Adnews Staff
The Toronto-based outdoor advertising company Mediacom Inc. has announced it has purchased J.C. Teron Co. Ltd., another outdoor advertising company. J.C. Teron has operations in Windsor, Chatham and Leamington. Mediacom's purchase of the company, which becomes effective in early September, will add approximately 300 poster faces, 9 bulletins and 160 transit shelter displays in the Windsor area to Mediacom's inventory. "The addition of J.C. Teron's operations to Mediacom is an exciting opportunity for us," Brian McLean, Mediacom's president, said. "Windsor is a growing community with considerable cross border traffic. It's a great market for national and local advertisers. This acquisition fits extremely well with our expansion plans for south-western Ontario." Mediacom's products include posters, superboards, transit shelters, mediacolumns, wall murals and permanents. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Outdoors Systems Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
