STARCOM WORLDWIDE LINKS SMALL AND MID-SIZED AGENCIES

Starcom Worldwide of Chicago, the media division of Leo Burnett Company, has launched StarLink, a new media management business. StarLink will provide small and mid-sized advertising agencies media planning and strategy as well as buying services. The new business will operate independently of Starcom. Bob Kubis has been named president of StarLink. He was previously at Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago as vice-president and retail group account director. Ken Zasky, who has been with Leo Burnett for 13 years, will serve as vice-president and media director. Over the past two years Starcom has won over $2 billion(U.S.) in media-only billings including AOR assignments from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Canon, United Distillers & Vintners and Corn Products. The StarLink Company will report to Kathy Ring, Starcom's chief marketing officer, who oversees the activities of all subsidiaries and divisions.
