NINTENDO OF CANADA PREPARES FOR HOLIDAY SEASON WITH PRICE DROP

Nintendo of Canada based in Vancouver, is getting ready for the holiday season with an early gift to video game fans across the country. The company has announced a new manufacturer's suggested retail price for its Nintendo 64 game console. The "Atomic Purple" bundle which comes with a N64 unit and two controllers will now retail for $139.99, while the Star Wars: Episode I: Racer bundle, which includes a N64 unit, one controller and the Star Wars: Episode I: Racer game, will be available for $169.99. The price cut was effective August 16. In support, Nintendo is running a national 30-second television commercial for four weeks beginning August 23. Additional print advertising will also support the price drop but plans have not been confirmed. Advertising for Nintendo of Canada is handled by Leo Burnett Company Ltd. The company also welcomed five new titles to its Player's Choice line of million-seller video games. N64 owners will be able to purchase the 1998 interactive game of the year: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, along with Banjo-Kazooie and 1080 degrees Snowboarding for $49.99. Yoshi's Story and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron will also be available for the reduced price.
