SAATCHI AND SAATCHI PROMOTING THE IDEA OF "REUSE"

Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising of Toronto is getting a chance to help reduce, reuse and recycle. The agency, working with Earth Day Canada of Toronto, has developed a "Reuse" campaign to inform Canadians about the benefits of reusing rather than discarding. The campaign, running nationally, includes transit shelter and bus side advertising as well as outdoor and website promotion. "While everyone is familiar with the concept of recycling, the fact is more can be done to help our environment by reusing," said Henry Wong, creative director at Saatchi and Saatchi. "So we wanted to have the message take more of an unusual spin." Ayal Leszcz, director of special projects at Earth Day Canada, told Adnews the campaign was designed to educate Canadians about the environmental, economic and social benefits of reusing. Earth Day is a non-profit, national organization which promotes environmental issues.
