SHARPE BLACKMORE EURO RSCG ACQUIRES THE SAFFER GROUP

To further expand the company's presence in the Canadian market Sharpe Blackmore EURO RSCG of New York has acquired The Saffer Group Inc. of Toronto. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The announcement follows Sharpe Blackmore and EURO RSCG entering into a partnership late last year. The newly merged agency will be named Sharpe Blackmore Saffer EURO RSCG and will based in Toronto. John Auriemma, who will assume the position of chief operating officer and will be responsible for the day to day operations of the agency, told Adnews that the two companies mergering are a perfect fit. "We each had something the other wanted," he said. Morris Saffer will remain as a retail strategic branding consultant to EURO RSCG clients internationally. Navil Bajina will remain as chief financial officer for the new agency and Tom Blackmore will be president of the new firm. The client roster for the agency includes: Dell, Xerox, Home Hardware, Volvo, Intel, Bata and Absolut Vodka accounts.
