JWT ENTERS MILLENNIUM WITH NEW DIRECTION

J. Walter Thompson Co. Canada has announced the appointment of Tony Pigott as the new president of JWT Group Canada. In his new role, Pigott will be responsible for all JWT Canada operations. He replaces John Clinton who has moved to Grey Advertising Inc. [See previous story.] Pigott comes from Enterprise Creative Selling which, during his tenure as president, doubled in size. Prior to that he spent 16 years at JWT managing clients such as Kraft, Unilever and Warner-Lambert. "JWT Canada is in the strongest position it has been in years," Pigott said. "We have the leadership, creative talent and great momentum behind a number of new campaigns that are proof of a revived Thompson. I want to help realize the full potential within the company and continue to build on our capabilities on total communications services." JWT is a unit of WPP Group, which is a worldwide global communications company.
