TRANSCONTINETAL ACQUIRES TWO FINANCIAL PUBLICATIONS

Montreal-based Transcontinental Publications Inc. has announced it has acquired two financial and investment information publications. The commercial printing company made the announcement yesterday. One of them, Investment Executive magazine, has a circulation of 45,000 copies and is distributed sixteen times a year. Also acquired in the acquisition was the publication's website at <http://www.investmentexecutive.com>. The target readership of Investment Executive is financial advisers and financial industry managers. The other, IE Money magazine, is published six times a year and has a circulation of 200,000 copies. The magazine is a Canadian personal finance publication. Both Investment Executive and IE Money were published by Investment Executive Inc. The acquisition increases Transcontinental's presence in the category of financial magazines. "This acquisition allows us to greatly strengthen and expand our presence in the key financial and business publications segment," Transcontinental's president Andre Prefontaine said. Additional titles published by Transcontinental include: Les Affaires, Affaires Plus, Revue Commerce and PME. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
