DDB GROUP CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY
By Adnews Staff
DDB Group Canada celebrated the 50th anniversary of DDB Worldwide earlier this week and marked the occasion by announcing the establishment of the DDB Foundation and contributing $20,000 to NABS National Advertising Benevolent Society, a non-profit organization supporting people in the advertising industry. The $20,000 donation is the result of a contribution of $50 for each of DDB Group Canada's 400 employees across the country. Founded 50 years ago as Doyle Dane Bembach, the agency merged with Needham Harper Worldwide in 1986 to form DDB Worldwide Communications Group. "This celebration is about the first 50 years of creativity at DDB and how we're positioned to lead in the next 50 years," DDB Group Canada chairman Norman Rigg said. "We are deeply grateful to all our clients and employees for 50 fantastic years and are thrilled to celebrate a measure of success with NABS." DDB Group employees gathered for celebrations in Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto.
