WAL-MART OFFERING RANGE OF PHANTOM MENACE STUFF

Wal-Mart Canada of Mississauga, Ont. is preparing for the launch of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace with a complete line up of merchandise available to own. A wide assortment including: toys, sporting goods, clothing, bedding, books, stationary supplies, video games, computer software and health and beauty aids will be sold at all 154 Wal-Mart locations across Canada. To prepare for the May 3 release of Phantom Menace merchandise, Wal-Mart is opening all of it stores, where bylaws permit it, at 7:00 a.m., the morning of May 3. "A midnight opening was a customer safety concern for us," Wal-Mart's director of public affairs, Andrew Pelletier told Adnews yesterday. To promote the launch of the Phantom Menace merchandise, an in-store Star Wars signing package will be used. The package, a joint venture between Wal-Mart and Hasbro Sales Inc., was created by Holland & Crosby of Mississauga, Ontario.
