Ian Grais has been appointed to the position of vice-president, creative director, Vancouver at Toronto-based Palmer Jarvis DDB. Grais has been with the agency since 1994, working on accounts including Playland, Parmalat, Crimestoppers and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. Back at the Toronto office, Victoria Gray has been promoted to the position of account director, managing the Lever Pond account. She will continue to work with the Vancouver office on the Finesse, Salon Selectives and Degree brands. Sheila McEachen has joined Toronto-based Cohn & Wolfe as manager of the healthcare practice. McEachen's previous experience in hospital and pharmaceutical circles has included work with the Canadian Medical Association, the University of Toronto, the Canadian Pharmacists Association and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, among others. McEachen brings Alcon Canada and Rhone-Poulenc Canada to Cohn & Wolfe as new clients. Susan Webb has been hired by United Parcel Service Canada as public relations manager. Her previous positions include a stint as manager of communications services for the Region of Peel. Marc Chouinard has taken over the positions of president and chief operating officer of department store chain The Bay and executive vice-president of Toronto-based Hudson's Bay Company. Most recently Chouinard was president of BiWay Stores, a retail chain owned by Dylex Ltd. He has also held senior positions at Zellers, Woodwards and Bata International. Chouinard replaces Ira Pickell, who resigned late last week.
