PREMIER'S ADS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT

The Toronto Sun has reported Premier Mike Harris and his campaign team are in hot water after filming some partisan ads in the Legislature's common areas. According to the article the trouble stems from a policy stating no private or commercial filming is allowed in the building. The article continues to say the team has apologized to Speaker Chris Stockwell and have agreed to toss the videotape shot outside the Legislature chamber. Yet, the team will hold on to shots that were produced inside the premier's office. The article reports the policy is MPPs are allowed to film inside the privacy of their personal offices only. Commercial production is forbidden in the public areas. The article states a spokesperson for Harris said the campaign team will not use anything that contravenes Legislature rules but confirmed that although they did not want to do anything to break the rules, permission was granted by Stockwell's office to shoot in the hallway outside the premier's office.
