GROCERY GATEWAY BRINGS GROCERY STORE HOME
By Adnews Staff
Grocery Gateway of Toronto has given couch potatoes another reason to keep their position on the sofa. The company has launched a new Web site that allows resident in the greater Toronto area to go grocery shopping without leaving home. Users browse the site of the virtual store and add products to their shopping cart with the click of a mouse. As products are added, a formal list is at the side which keeps a running total of the bill. All perishable items are hand-picked and packed by trained selectors. The order is delivered to the customers door within a selected time period. The actual shopping is done through Longo's stores. Payment can be made through debit card, cheque, Visa or MasterCard and there is a $6 fee for picking, packing and delivery. The site is being promoted using PR handled by Thornley Fallis Communications of Toronto. Although no advertising for the site is currently planned, marketing of the site will be handled by the Blackrock Marketing Group of Toronto.
