CLEARLY CANADIAN TO BRING SOUTH AFRICA TO NORTH AMERICA
By Adnews Staff
Vancouver-based Clearly Canadian Beverage Corp. has entered into an agreement with Pamodzi Food of South Africa to market its juice, beer and wine beverages in Canada and the U.S. Clearly Canadian communications and public affairs director Kelly Lendvoy told Adnews last week that the company wouldn't discuss details of the agreement until the deal closes next month. The agreement will raise over $11 million(US) for Clearly Canadian. Under the deal, Clearly Canadian will also be entering the international market. Pamodzi will distribute Clearly Canadian's beverages in South Africa and other international markets. "This investment of capital solidifies our efforts to improve growth and profitability and capitalize on our diversifying brand portfolio," Clearly Canadian president and CEO Douglas Mason says in a release. "The strategic alliance with Pamodzi will allow us to invest more aggressively on initiatives to grow our business such as developing new innovative brands, expanding distribution and increasing sales and marketing efforts in key consumer markets. Advertising for Clearly Canadian is handled by Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver, and one of its divisions, the Karacters Design Group of Vancouver.
