SEARS NAMED THEATRE TITLE SPONSOR FOR AIR CANADA CENTRE

Sears Canada has become the title sponsor of the theatre in the Air Canada Centre. The self-contained 5,200-seat theatre within the Toronto sport and entertainment complex will feature medium-sized international concerts and family shows. The Sears Theatre will have 20-inch seats and optimal sight lines through its theatre-style raked seating. It is scheduled to open Feb. 20. Sears became the title sponsor of the theatre because it wants to be known as a relevant, energized and contemporary retailer, and believes it will do so through concerts and events held at the theatre. In addition, the theatre will attract families, a major target market for the national retailer.
