MARKETING ALLIANCE TO TOUT TORONTO AREA WORLDWIDE

The Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance, SMART Toronto and Deloitte & Touche have teamed up to market the Toronto area's information, technology and telecommunications industry around the world. The partners will create a marketing package that will promote such things as the type of companies the area has and the skilled labor force. The package will likely include a CD and collateral materials. It will be circulated to the provincial and federal governments, consulates and business ambassadors. It will also be sent to various companies through direct mail. The marketing tool will be used by members of Team Canada, Team Ontario, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade posts overseas. The package will be available by mid-March. It will be handled by Deloitte & Touche. The goal of the package is to promote the industry and its competitive advantages in the greater Toronto area, to slow down the number of university graduates to the U.S. and other parts of the world, to provide more appropriate job opportunities for workers and to promote the area internally.
