TELMAR BUYS MAJORITY INTEREST IN HARRIS MEDIA

The Telmar Group of New York has bought a majority stake in Harris Media Systems of Toronto. Both companies provide advertising media planning software and support services. "Our combination with Harris follows the ongoing trend in the advertising industry towards global mergers," Telmar founder and CEO Stanley Federman says in a release. "Advertising agencies and market and advertising research firms have been combining in the effort to provide customers a complete range of marketing services, leading edge technology, administrative professionalism and synergistic product availability." The users of Telmar's software can use one media program to analyze over 1,000 databases from the U.S., Canada and global research suppliers such as PMB Print Measurement Bureau, NADbank, Bureau of Broadcast Measurement, Mediamark, TGI, ACNielsen and Roper Starch Worldwide. Telmar also has offices in Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Brussels.
