By Adnews Staff
Glaxo Wellcome Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. has signed a deal to give Theramed Corp. control over the marketing of Glaxo's Eltroxin prescription drug. Eltroxin treats hypothroidism, which is a female health problem. Glaxo made the move because Theramed of Mississauga, Ont. specializes in women's health, corporate communications director Sandra Cruickshanks told Adnews yesterday. The drug will be promoted by speaking directly to doctors. Eltroxin has been on the market since 1951. Theramed also markets the Lear Contraceptive, which is used in the management of fertility.
