LUMICOM PLACES TV MONITORS IN 23 QUEBEC HOSPITALS
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based Lumicom Media now has its electronic boards installed in the emergency wards of 23 Quebec hospitals and plans to offer them in Ottawa hospitals beginning in the new year. The boards carry animated public service messages created by emergency ward personnel. The messages explain how the emergency department works such as patients being taken according to priority, not on a first-come, first-serve basis. The boards also explain different illnesses such as hypertension. The information reel runs for 20 minutes and carries 45 second ads as well. Lumicom says patients view the messages an average of nine times prior to their consultations with physician. The company also says the TV monitors reach over two million people a year.
