SYMANTEC INTRODUCES NORTON PROMOTION

Symantec Corp. of Toronto will launch a campaign next month to promote its Norton line of software. The campaign will use point-of-sale materials in both English and French. It will be created in-house. PR is handled by The Communications Group of Toronto. Under the plan, customers who purchase a copy of Norton SystemWorks, Norton AntiVirus, Norton Utilities or Norton Crashguard will have a chance to win prizes such as Sony camcorders and digital camcorders, as well as Symantec watches, hats and T-shirts. The grand prize is a trip for two to Hawaii. To enter, customers complete and send the mail-in rebate form attached to the software box. Symantec products are sold across Canada at such retailers as the Future Shop, London Drugs, Business Depot, Staples, Bureau En Gros, Adventure Electronics and Computer City.
