CANADIAN TIRE GEARS UP FOR OLD MAN WINTER

Toronto-based Canadian Tire is getting Canadians ready for winter driving. The national retailer introduced two new tires to the market this week to help consumers drive safely in winter weather. The tires are called the Nordic Icetrac and Nordic Wintertrac. The Icetrac has a saw tooth design and deep see-through grooves. It is designed for wet, slushy and icy conditions. The Wintertrac is designed for hard-packed snow and features an aggressive tread design and heavily siped blocks. The tread grooves allow for the displacement of snow away from the tire to offer more vehicle control. The tires will be promoted using TV and radio ads created by Doner Canada of Toronto. In-store materials and a full-page ad in Canadian Tire's catalogue will also be used. This portion of the campaign will be created in-house.
