CANADIANS TRAVELING WITHIN THE COUNTRY

Canadians made 129 million trips within Canada last year and spent $16.4 billion, according to Statistics Canada. About half the trips included at least one night away from home, with each person spending an average of $198. Twenty-eight million overnight trips were to visit loved ones, while about 25 million other trips were for pleasure.
