ROYAL BANK DESIGNS BANKING PACKAGE FOR STUDENTS

The Royal Bank of Canada is targeting college and university students with its latest banking package that became available this week. Called the Student Banking package, students will be able to receive various banking services for one monthly fee. For $3.50 a month, users will receive 25 self-serve debit transactions and two full-serve debit transactions per month, purchase security and extended warranty insurance on most Interac Direct Payment purchases made with the Royal Bank Client card, a Daily Interest Transactions account with free Royal Direct telephone and Internet banking access and a no-fee Royal Bank Student Visa Classic II card that includes instant discounts at participating retailers across Canada. The new package will be promoted using in-branch materials and direct marketing handled in-house.
