CIBC OFFERS EXTRA AIR MILES

The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has joined forces with Advantex Marketing International of Toronto to give its CIBC Aerogold credit cardholders added benefits. Under the deal, cardholders will collect double Aeroplan miles for every dollar they spend at participating Advantex Benefit establishments in their resident province when they pay the bill with their CIBC Aerogold card. When customers spend at an Advantex Benefit business outside of their home province, they will receive triple Aeroplan miles when they pay the bill with their Aerogold card. The program will be promoted using print ads in The Globe and Mail, En Route and Toronto Life magazines, as well as through direct mail. FCB Direct of Toronto handled the creative portion of the campaign, while Padulo Integrated of Toronto handled the media buy. The Advantex Benefit program currently operates in four cities: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. In 1999, the program will be extended into other cities including Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Victoria and Halifax. Advantex develops value-added consumer trial and loyalty programs. The company's customer base includes a range of businesses throughout North America including financial institutions and small neighborhood restaurants.
