COGECO BUYS TWO QUEBEC CABLE OPERATORS

Cogeco Cable Inc. of Montreal is getting bigger. The cable company has bought two Quebec-based cable operators: Valleyfield Transvisions inc. and Emtel Inc. The cable systems in Valleyfield and the surrounding areas have about 16,500 customers. Cogeco bought the two companies because it wants to acquire cable systems where it is already present. Cogeco serves 795,000 basic service customers in Canada.
