THE HOME DEPOT TO OFFER NEW LINE OF POWER TOOLS

The Home Depot of Atlanta has teamed up with Emerson Electric of St. Louis, Missouri to sell the company's new line of power tools in its North American home improvement outlets. Called Ridgid, the product line consists of bench top and stationary power tools, which includes two table saws, a miter saw, a scroll saw, a jointer-planer, a drill press, a band saw, a wood lathe, an abrasive cut-off machine and an oscillating edge belt/spindle sander. The tools will be available in Home Depot outlets in October. In Canada, The Home Depot will promote the line using print, radio and TV ads, as well as flyers. Canadian advertising for the retailer is handled in-house. The Home Depot has sold Emerson's wet/dry vacuums and air filtration systems since May. In Canada, these products have been in Home Depot outlets since July. The Home Depot operates 690 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. Emerson Electric also manufactures a range of electrical, electronic and related products for the commercial, industrial and consumer markets.
