BELL TO OFFER TOLL-FREE INTERNET SERVICE FOR RURAL SCHOOLS
By Adnews Staff
Bell Canada of Toronto is going after the education market with its latest Internet service. Under the plan, Bell will offer its Internet service to rural schools and libraries across Ontario and Quebec by providing toll-free long distance access to the service. Currently, schools and libraries in some rural and distant locations are not served by a local Internet service provider and must incur long distance charges in order to connect to the Internet. Schools and libraries can sign up for the service by calling a 1-800 number. Bell plans to promote the toll-free service by calling schools and school boards directly. PR will be done in-house. Advertising for Bell is created by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto, while the media portion of the account is handled by McKim Media Group/BBDO Canada of Toronto. Bell Canada is a telecommunications company offering its products and services to over seven million business and residential customers in Ontario and Quebec.
