ARTISTS JOIN FORCES TO RAISE MONEY FOR DIABETES RESEARCH

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Canada is trying to raise money to help find a cure for diabetes. The organization will launch a CD in October that will feature a compilation of songs from such artists as Sarah McLachlan, Amanda Marshall, Beverley Mahood and Holly Cole. Other artists will include Tara Maclean, Chantal Kreviazuk, Lile Fatale, Melanie Doane, Wild Strawberries, Terez Montcalm, Rachel Matkin and Amy Sky. The CD will be promoted using a print ad in Homemakers magazine and PR handled by Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto. The print ad was created by the magazine. About 2.25 million Canadians are afflicted with diabetes which can cause blindness, heart and kidney failure, as well as amputation. JDF's mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
