TUT TO ENTER CANADA
By Adnews Staff
Tut Systems Inc. of Pleasant Hill, California has decided to expand into the Canadian market. The company has hired Rycom Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. to handle the Canadian sales, marketing, operations and support of all Tut networking products. For the time being, Rycom will not promote the products using advertising. If it decides to do so at a future date, the campaign will likely be created in-house. Focus Communications of Markham, Ont. handles PR for Rycom. Tut's product line includes its HomeRun in-home LAN technology, Tut's Expresso GS xDSL systems for high-speed data provisioning in central office, residence and corporate enterprise environments, as well as its XL family of Ethernet LAN extenders for campus and high-rise locations. "The Canadian market is important to our growth plans and choosing the right partner to help expand into that marketplace is key," Tut president and CEO Sal D'Auria says in a release. "Rycom's tremendous depth of experience in communications technology and the company's ability to handle all of the sales, marketing and support necessary to keep our customers happy made them a natural choice. We're excited to have found a partner of this caliber." Rycom is a communications convergence company that markets networking and communications products and solutions to the Canadian commercial, government and consumer markets.
