TORONTO PUB TAKES BREW TO RETAIL
By Adnews Staff
Granite Brewery of Toronto began selling one of its brews in the retail market earlier this month. Called Peculiar Ale, the beer is available at Liquor Control Board of Ontario outlets. Until now, Granite Brewery only sold the beer in its Toronto restaurant. The company is promoting the retail availability of Peculiar Ale using ads in beer-related publications. When distribution increases, Granite will look into newspaper and radio ads as well. Advertising will be created in-house. Granite also sells seven other beer brands in its restaurant. They are: Ringwood, Ringberry Best Bitter Ale, Best Bitter Special Ale, IPA, Keith's Irish Stout and Summer Ale. Company president Ron Keefe told Adnews yesterday that he hopes to sell these brands through retail as well, but no date has been set.
