UPS OFFERS ONLINE COURIER SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based United Parcel Services took its courier service online this week. The company launched its UPS Document Exchange service which will provide users with a choice of two Internet delivery services: UPS OnLine Courier and UPS OnLine Dossier. OnLine Courier allows customers to send documents to anyone regardless of the e-mail software, operating system or hardware being used by either the sender or receiver. Customers have several security options including password protection and encryption. OnLine Dossier is an insured service that features a double encryption process. It authenticates identities using digital certificates, which are required by both the sender and receiver, as well as third party validation. Both services are available worldwide and provide real-time tracking, archiving, delivery confirmation and password protection options. In Canada, advertising plans for the service are currently being worked out. PR is being done by Edelman Public Relations Canada of Toronto. Canadian advertising for UPS is created by Ammirati & Puris/Lintas of Toronto.
