CANADIAN TIRE MOVES DIRECT MAIL TO ONE AGENCY

Canadian Tire Acceptance Ltd. of Toronto has consolidated the direct mail portion of its account with Toronto-based Grey Direct. The agency won the business this week after a competition with four other agencies. "Grey Direct clearly demonstrated that they are serious practitioners in building synergy between brand development, direct response and relationship marketing," customer development vice-president Marco Marrone says in a release. The incumbents on the business were Wunderman, Cato, Johnson, Publicis Direct and Devon Direct, all of Toronto. CTAL markets credit cards, insurance products, the Canadian Tire Auto Club and a long distance telecom service.
