NU SKIN IN HOT WATER OVER U.S. COURT CASE
By Adnews Staff
A class-action suit has been brought against Provo, Utah-based Nu Skin International Inc. The plaintiffs claim that Nu Skin failed to register its distributorships under federal securities laws and violated the Utah Pyramid Scheme Act. The case alleges that Nu Skin, a so-called "network-marketing" company, began it's operations in Canada in 1990. The lawsuit hinges on whether or not Nu Skin is a pyramid scheme - if the court finds that it is, then the 126,096 "distributors" who signed up will be entitled to a share in the judgment - this includes Canadians who signed up. The case has not yet been set for trial.
