BRASS TACKS OPENS SMALL BUSINESS RESEARCH UNIT

Brass Tacks Communications of Toronto recently launched a new division that focuses on the small business market. The unit will handle qualitative market research for clients wanting to target small businesses using focus groups, one-on-one interviews with entrepreneurs, online chats and roundtable discussions. The goal of the research is to get into the minds of small business owners, agency president John Warrillow told Adnews yesterday. Virginia Pino has joined Brass Tacks to head up the new division. Most recently she was research director at Alliance Broadcasting. So far, the unit is working with such companies as the Royal Bank of Canada, IBM Canada and Rogers Cantel.
