TWO AGENCIES BATTLE FOR QUEBEC BURGER BUSINESS
By Adnews Staff
Two agencies are vying for the $2 million Quebec portion of the Burger King Canada account. The short listed agencies are: Diesel Marketing Inc. and Communication bleu blanc rouge, both of Montreal. The incumbent on the business was Marketel of Montreal. The agency was invited to pitch for the business, but chose not to because of a "difference in philosophy," agency president Jacques Duval told Adnews last week. Burger King decided to hold a review because "we felt we needed to have a fresh look at what was happening in Quebec," marketing director Chuck McAulay told Adnews yesterday. In English Canada, RadioWorks of Toronto handles the fast-food chain's radio advertising and adapts U.S. TV creative. TN Media of Toronto does media placement and buying.
